Best PPC Campaign: how we did it
UK Vein Clinic treat patients with varicose veins. Treatment can often require surgery and so lead-to-conversion time is often long. (Seeking surgical treatment isn’t the same as buying a new rucksack, after all.)
The thinking behind the campaign comes from a simple realisation. It’s all very well generating leads. But it’s not always easy to know which leads to prioritise following up. And when you have a long conversion funnel, it’s essential to know whether a lead is worth pursuing.
So we sought to devise a way to reveal the conversion intent of each new lead we generated via pay per click.
Our response to the challenge was to create a multi-step form on UK Vein Clinic’s pay per click campaign landing pages: asking detailed questions to funnel each lead down a specific diagnostic pathway.
By following the data through in terms of what happened with these leads, we could then assign probability of conversion and potential revenue value for all subsequent leads. In essence, we created a questionnaire that acted as a lead scoring mechanism.
Just by asking the right questions, in the right way, at the right time.
A few extras…
The motivations behind seeking varicose vein treatment are many. So we created multiple PPC campaigns to try to capture varying shapes of intent, each of the ads linking through to campaign-specific landing pages.
We crafted over 40 landing pages. Each with the diagnostic form – fuelling lead scoring and giving UK Vein Clinic’s sales team crucial intel on the motivations behind each new lead’s enquiry, making it easier to provide a personalised follow up.
Our latest data shows the completion rate of the landing page form is at 27%.
