Remarketing isn’t possible with Google Ads for healthcare
And it makes sense, doesn’t it? Google prohibit remarketing with healthcare ads because they don’t want brands cultivating and sharing lists of people with specific ailments or diseases. That’s a massive intrusion of privacy. Custom audiences are out of the question.
But there are workarounds…
The seed is part of the plant
Custom audiences might be out of the question, but lookalike audiences aren’t. You can use the data you have gathered through your Google lead gen activities as seed data for your lookalike audience. And the original audience within that seed will not be excluded from the ads you serve to your lookalike audience.
It’s not quite remarketing. But it does allow you to reach out to warm leads with a slightly different message, while simultaneously hitting a new – probably receptive – audience in the process.
You CAN remarket on Facebook & Instagram
If you’re running PPC campaigns with Google Ads, it doesn’t require a wild leap of productivity to start campaigns through Facebook. And guess what? Facebook allows remarketing for healthcare brands.
